Chris grew up as part of an Air Force Family which traveled all over the world. Chris’ love of travel continued and when she first traveled to Africa in the mid eighties she met the love of her life and current husband Doug. I was born in Chingola Zambia, and moved to South Africa when I was six years old. We lived on a beautiful farm and Nature Reserve on the Mpumalanga Escarpment miles from anywhere. I attended boarding school from age six through high school. I went into the South African Army and thence to the University of Cape Town. After completing two years of Civil Engineering, the flying bug caught up with me. I have been a pilot ever since. |

Carolyn Souther: I have been a child advocate all my life. I am a retired Marriage and Family therapist. When I visited Africa and saw orphans 10 and younger carrying their younger brothers and sisters around the bush and in cities, wandering, barely existing, my heart broke. I heard about Give Me Hope and wanted to help and be a part of this organization.
