Chris evans

Chris grew up as part of an Air Force Family which traveled all over the world. Chris’ love of travel continued and when she first traveled to Africa in the mid eighties she met the love of her life and current husband Doug. Chris’ Christian journey started shortly thereafter and she has been showered with God’s grace ever since.

Chris and Doug were blessed with two wonderful children who are now both in the U.S. Air force at the U S Air Force Academy. Chris is now a successful business woman in Santa Cruz California.

Her love of Africa and its needy children began on her first visit to Africa and her dream of being able to help them is now a reality with her non profit “Give Me Hope Inc.”.

Doug Evans

I was born in Chingola Zambia, and moved to South Africa when I was six years old. We lived on a beautiful farm and Nature Reserve on the Mpumalanga Escarpment miles from anywhere. I attended boarding school from age six through high school. I went into the South African Army and thence to the University of Cape Town. After completing two years of Civil Engineering, the flying bug caught up with me. I have been a pilot ever since.

I‘m blessed to be able to travel extensively with Christine, my absolute best friend and wife for the last 25 years. We have two wonderful children Ryan and Rachael who’ve made us incredibly proud throughout their lives.

My Christian walk began many years ago and despite all my mistakes and wanderings, I have been showered by God's grace. It is my hope that, despite my obvious failings, God will enable me share my good fortune and to help others through Give me Hope Inc..

Virginia Howard

Virginia (“Ginger”) Howard is a corporate attorney with the law firm of Walker & Reed, LLP, in Monterey, California.  After her children left for college, she decided to focus her law practice on the representation of nonprofit organizations to give her life more meaning and purpose.

Ginger has traveled to India to volunteer as a dental assistant in a mobile clinic, helped form countless nonprofits, and is currently also on the board of directors of Old Monterey Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting the history and culture of historic downtown Monterey.

Carolyn Souther

Carolyn Souther: I have been a child advocate all my life.  I am a retired Marriage and Family therapist.  When I visited Africa and saw orphans 10 and younger carrying their younger brothers and sisters around the bush and in cities, wandering, barely existing, my heart broke.  I heard about Give Me Hope and wanted to help and be a part of this organization.
