Chris evans

Chris grew up as part of an Air Force Family which traveled all over the world. Chris’ love of travel continued and when she first traveled to Africa in the mid eighties she met the love of her life and current husband Doug. Chris’ Christian journey started shortly thereafter and she has been showered with God’s grace ever since.

Chris and Doug were blessed with two wonderful children who are now both in the U.S. Air force at the U S Air Force Academy. Chris is now a successful business woman in Santa Cruz California.

Her love of Africa and its needy children began on her first visit to Africa and her dream of being able to help them is now a reality with her non profit “Give Me Hope Inc.”.

Doug Evans

I was born in Chingola Zambia, and moved to South Africa when I was six years old. We lived on a beautiful farm and Nature Reserve on the Mpumalanga Escarpment miles from anywhere. I attended boarding school from age six through high school. I went into the South African Army and thence to the University of Cape Town. After completing two years of Civil Engineering, the flying bug caught up with me. I have been a pilot ever since.

I‘m blessed to be able to travel extensively with Christine, my absolute best friend and wife for the last 25 years. We have two wonderful children Ryan and Rachael who’ve made us incredibly proud throughout their lives.

My Christian walk began many years ago and despite all my mistakes and wanderings, I have been showered by God's grace. It is my hope that, despite my obvious failings, God will enable me share my good fortune and to help others through Give me Hope Inc..

Virginia Howard

Virginia (“Ginger”) Howard is a corporate attorney with the law firm of Walker & Reed, LLP, in Monterey, California.  After her children left for college, she decided to focus her law practice on the representation of nonprofit organizations to give her life more meaning and purpose.

Ginger has traveled to India to volunteer as a dental assistant in a mobile clinic, helped form countless nonprofits, and is currently also on the board of directors of Old Monterey Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting the history and culture of historic downtown Monterey.

Carolyn Souther

Carolyn Souther: I have been a child advocate all my life.  I am a retired Marriage and Family therapist.  When I visited Africa and saw orphans 10 and younger carrying their younger brothers and sisters around the bush and in cities, wandering, barely existing, my heart broke.  I heard about Give Me Hope and wanted to help and be a part of this organization.

Tommy Lauderdale

Thomas Lauderdale grew up on Aptos, California. He attended Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo, where he earned a degree in Environmental Engineering.  He joined the U.S. Marine Corps after qualifying for air contract and is currently in flight school in Corpus Christi, Texas.   He has volunteered to serve on the Board and as Chief Financial Officer of Give Me Hope because he cares about children growing up impoverished and abandoned in third world counties, and because he has lots of free time between flights and simulator training.

Mary LouTzimbal

Mary Lou Tzimbal resides in Santa cruz, Ca. She has faithfully served on the GMH Board since 2012

Myra and David Ambrosini

Myra is married to David.  She has 2 beautiful (inside & out) boys, Nicco ages 19 and Dante ages, 17.  They love the Lord and most of the times exude his love and grace.

Myra owned and operated a small business in the fine jewelry industry and went into real estate business in 2002 until present.  She loves to interact with people of different backgrounds and to hear their stories.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics with a business emphasis at U.C. Santa Cruz.
Her passion is to help people who are “helpless” and to be God’s hands and feet; with her flaws and all.  We serve a good God that is gracious and merciful when we seek Him and to see His face with all our imperfections, he meets us as we are.  He smiles and says, “come to me, you who are weary and I will give you rest.”

David Ambrosini is happily married to Myra and looks to her often in his Christian walk for inspiration. He loves God above all and strives to love what God loves. His other great joy is Father of his boys, Dante attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Nicco is graduating from St. Mary’s college with a Masters in Business.

A verse that inspires him from his favorite book of the bible, James, also leads to his inspiration to actively join Give Me Hope Inc. James 1:27 - Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
